Aberlour Casg Annamh Highland Single Malt 48°: Description and customer reviews

Aberlour Casg Annamh Highland Single Malt is a Speyside whisky made from small casks. Its name means " rare cask " in Gaelic.

It has been aged in 3 types of cask: oloroso sherry and two varieties of American oak. It is bottled without cold filtration.

Florian's tasting notes

The color is amber, with multiple drops of fine, rapid tears.

A rather gourmand nose, orange cake that inevitably leads to little Chamonix cookies (still exist?), soft woodiness and milk chocolate.
A little later, vanilla pear tart and a slight return of almond and clove.

Soft and coating on the palate. Small spices, gentle woodiness and vanilla. The fruit unravels: pear, then baked apple, raisins and again, but more discreetly than on the nose, orange and cake. A floral sensation envelops the whole, evoking orange blossom.
Warning: the addition of water is more of an enemy than a benefactor.

The finish is long and dry, oscillating between wood and orange zest.
