This rum is made with pure cane honey distilled in a modern stainless steel still. It is then aged in sherry casks that have been re-burned to bring out the full aromatic potential of the oak.
By scrupulously selecting different vintage barrels, and thanks to the solera system, we obtain a high-quality blend.

Nico's tasting notes
The nose of this rum initially grabs you with the thickness of a damp woody note. Then the familiar markers of the Dictador brand follow: coffee first, then nuts and caramel that form a pretty, gourmand praline. A few hints of rancio, i.e. oxidation and nuts in the manner of a yellow wine, come and go for a much more unusual profile. Molasses and toasted wood then suggest toasted bread or brioche and maple syrup. Overall, the nose is very dark and roasted.
The opening allows all the aromas to bind together, and we continue to think of maple syrup, but with an extra touch of opulence. The aromas are rather dry, but there's a hint of roundness, characterized by caramel. We imagine this rum would go well with dessert coffee.
On the palate, the coffee is both dark and sweet, almost tart. Notes of caramel spread across the tongue, while the roasted side brings contrast and a certain astringency. The caramel is salty, with woody, toasty flavors. Contact with the palate is soft and sweet, despite these dark, brown notes.
On the finish, the whole continues to melt, taking the form of a thick, gently flowing maple syrup.
