Don Papa Rum 7 ans is an aged molasses rum from the Philippines. The raw material comes from sugar cane grown locally on the island of Negros, also known as "Sugarlandia". Column distillation then takes place at the Bago distillery. Aging also takes place on site, at the foot of the Kanlaon volcano. Bourbon and rioja (Spanish wine) barrels are used to blend this rum, which is at least 7 years old.
After initially being labeled a "spirited beverage," Don Papa significantly reduced its sugar content and thus reverted to its "rum" designation. To rediscover the original formula, we invite you to try the Baroko vintage . A small amount of "classic" Don Papa is also still available.
Don Papa 7 ans is resolutely gourmet: a gentle introduction to the world of New World rums.
Pauline's tasting notes
On the nose, notes of vanilla, apricot and stewed mango herald the creaminess that awaits us on the palate.
The citrus flavors are lively, but the palate remains pastry-like: vanilla cream, apricot and citrus explode on the palate.
A hint of cinnamon completes the aromatic unfolding.
