Although this Flor de Caña has aged for 4 years, it is still white. It is thanks to a delicate filtration process carried out after the ageing period that this limpidity is achieved, while preserving the aromas acquired over these 4 years.
C’est le cas pour de certains « rons » de tradition espagnole, assez « légers » et donc particulièrement adaptés pour une consommation sous forme de cocktail : on fait vieillir le rhum tout de même quelques années pour lui donner de l’intensité, mais on le filtre ensuite pour que sa couleur n’altère pas celle des autres ingrédients du cocktail dont il servira de base.

In brief: light - toasted - floral
The nose is very light and ethereal. A hint of smokiness evokes toasted charcoal or dry vegetal. The rum opens with notes of warm, melted, cooked sugar. Roasted nuts recall walnuts or dry, roasted peanuts, then melt into peanut butter.
With aeration, the rum releases slightly floral alcohol aromas and more and more toasted wood, as well as a hint of gray pepper.
Very light on the palate, the alcohol evaporates along with the nuts. Pepper and the minerality of charcoal seize the tongue. The ethereal side of the alcohol returns with a hint of vanilla.
The finish is a little floral, giving the sensation of a light white spirit.
