Gin Engine Caroni Cask is a limited edition of the gin produced in north-west Italy.
Its composition is identical to the classic Gin Engine. However, a 6-month finish in ex-Caroni rum barrels completes the aromatic palette.
The aim is to bring Trinidad closer to Italy, and the world of rum closer to that of gin.
Nico's tasting notes
On the nose , a superb freshness emanates from the glass, made of lemon juice enhanced with a hint of liquorice. The clarity of this gin is truly pleasing. Flowery and fruity, it lets some spices explode into the air, and the cardamom makes a remarkable appearance.
On the palate , the fragrant side of this gin is expressed through a good handful of spices which crowd around the juniper berry. The latter sticks to the lips for a moment, then delivers aniseed, flowery notes, as well as a resinous side which could recall wood tannins.
