On the nose, there's no mistaking the spiciness of this rum: cinnamon predominates, with ginger more discreetly present. There's also a hint of bitter orange.
On the palate, La Mauny Spicy is sweet (brown sugar), with a blend of mild spices and caramel. The whole is reminiscent of gingerbread.
The finish leaves a pleasant liquorish impression, with a slight earthiness.
