Cultivated in China for over 2000 years, the lychee is a typical fruit of Réunion Island where it is called "letchi". This Chatel infused rum skillfully combines this juicy fruit with rum from the Savanna distillery.
Nico's tasting notes
In brief: lychee - rose - sweet - exotic fruit
The nose is sweet and immediately reminiscent of candy. There's a hint of vegetal and vanilla, as well as floral notes reminiscent of rose. The lychee is presented in its syrup, as in an exotic fruit salad. Lemon and ginger lift the nose, giving it a little kick. With time, the mood softens and becomes rounder, reminiscent once again of delicate rosewater, as in a loukoum.
On the palate, lychee and rose are close and similar, with the freshness of an exotic fruit salad in syrup.
"The lychee brings a pleasant freshness to this sweet rum with its delicate rose notes..."
