Santisima Trinidad De Cuba 15 ans is the fruit of a sophisticated 3-stage ageing process.
First, the rum rests in casks for 4 years, then the different casks are blended. In the second phase, the rum is aged for a period ranging from 3 to 25 years, then these rums of varying ages are blended again before entering the3rd period. The rum then rests again to achieve the desired harmonization and profile.
Nico's tasting notes
The nose opens with a light rum, perfumed with prune brandy. The toasted barrel has impregnated the rum to the core, leaving its roasted, even charred mark. A handful of tangy fruits emerge from the rum's lightness.
Aeration coats the nostrils with a pinch of powdered sugar, for a marshmallow-like sweetness. Caramelized nuts roll in with gusto.
The palate is very light, with a hint of red fruit gum. The confections contain a little spice that swarms on the tongue. A veil of vanilla closes the spice march.
The finish is somewhere between dry and sweet, with catchy toasted wood and a sweet sensation despite everything.
