Velier Cuban Rum 1956 Hoy Como Ayer is a vibrant witness to Cuba's turbulent history, distilled in 1956, at the heart of the Cuban Revolution.
Selected by La Maison & Velier, it comes from a decisive era when, despite political instability, Cuba experienced notable economic prosperity, fueled by its sugar industry and rum production.
This exceptional single cask pays homage to this golden age and bears the evocative name "Hoy Como Ayer," a reference to the work of Aconcha, whose image graces the bottle's label. Aconcha is a French-Cuban artist (painter, sculptor, illustrator, performer, singer-songwriter, writer) born in Havana who is part of the Art Brut movement.
This rum has been aged entirely in the tropical climate of Cuba and has been bottled at cask strength. Only 271 bottles have been produced. They are all numbered.
