Bally

Bally

The history of the Bally distillery begins with the founding of theHabitation de Lajus in 1774, which at the time benefited from the volcanic soils of Le Carbet, as well as the existing manor house and small sugar farm.
Shortly after the Saint-Pierre cataclysm, from which he narrowly escaped, the Lajus estate was foreclosed on.

In 1917, Jacques Bally, a young Arts & Manufactures engineer graduating from the École Centrale de Paris, acquired the premises and set about restoring it, equipping it with a new distillation column and steam engine.

In the 1930s, the founder created the pyramid-shaped bottle that made the brand famous.

In 1987, the distillery was transferred to Simon (where HSE and Clément are also produced), and from 1996 onwards, Bally is produced at the Saint James distillery.

Depuis 2003, la marque appartient à la Martiniquaise, d’ailleurs acquise en même temps que Saint James.
