Beyond the sulphurous nature of the films in which this actor, who gave his name to the brand, starred (you've guessed what kind of film it is...), the making of Ron de Jeremy actually passes through the expert hands of Don Pancho Fernandez.

Born in Cuba in 1938, the son of a wine and spirits merchant, Don Pancho Fernandez has been making rums for over 50 years.

After earning a degree in microbiology in Cuba, Don Pancho Fernandez first worked with his father in the family business, then, still in Cuba, on a variety of "rones" (milk bars) such as Carta Blanca, Havana Club, and Matusalem. It was there that he met his mentor, Don Ramon Fernandez Corrales, and gradually rose through the ranks, becoming Master Blender and then director. A specialist in mojitos and daiquiris, he also trained numerous "Maestros Roneros" (milk masters).
He is then considered the architect of the modernization of the Cuban rum industry.

Don Pancho Fernandez then continued his career in Panama with Varela Hermanos (le ron Abuelo), where he directed the restoration of an old distillery located just a few kilometers from Valera Hermanos Distillery, and also worked as a consultant for various brands, including Ron de Jeremy.

Ron de Jeremy, spiced or not, is a blend of rums produced in distilleries in four different countries: Barbados, Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica and Guyana (formerly British Guyana). It is blended under the direction of Don Pancho Fernandez. Read less
